The IRS has gone fully digital for payments and refunds.

Executive order 14247 (signed 2024) eliminated paper checks for tax refunds as of September 30, 2025. All payments made to the government (including tax payments) are now processed electronically. ✅ Filing stays the same: Continue to file your returns as you normally would, using one of the existing filing options. ✅ Refunds go digital: All refunds will be delivered by direct deposit or other secure electronic methods.
